"Safety First" with the construction static report from GermanDomes
The comprehensive “structural analysis report” from GermanDomes as the basis for tested safety
A “structural analysis report” is required by law for the commercial use of self-supporting geodesic domes.
GermanDomes is the only manufacturer to offer a comprehensive “structural analysis report” of over 70 pages for the domes in the GEO series.
This report fully documents the required calculations for snow load, wind load, fire protection class and material specifications.
Geodesic domes – cantilever structures with amazing advantages
The stability of geodesic dome structures results from a type of truss construction, whereby the forces occurring are transferred and distributed to the entire network via the nodal points. This is extremely efficient for the distribution of forces and far superior to other designs in terms of wind and especially snow loads. The hexagonal shape of the segments on which the construction method is based is also more stable than comparable rectangular shapes.
Due to their perfect aerodynamic shape, geodesic domes are wind and storm-proof, as the wind has nowhere to apply its destructive forces.
Due to their statics and high stability, appropriately calculated geodesic domes do not require columns or beams.
Geodesic domes are characterized by their favorable material-to-volume ratio, they offer advantageous sound distribution and good air circulation. In contrast to all other types of construction, domed buildings offer the possibility of constant exposure to sunlight throughout the day. This results in a high energy yield and usability. This is particularly advantageous in the cooler seasons and significantly reduces heating costs.
